HMW PE 500 - Polyethylene
High Molecular Weight Polyethylene / HMW PE 500 grade is very extensively used as a wear or abrasion resistant component on conveyors, chutes, troughs, tension bars and liners. Being lightly 'softer' than UHMW, HMW PE is often specified for cutting boards because it does not blunt the knives as quickly and is food approved. HMW (PE 500 aka HD 500) polyethylene has a density 500,000 g/mol, compared with 300,000 g/mol for standard HDPE or 1,000,000+ g/mol (per ITS) to 3.1+ million (per ATS) for UHMW. HMW PE 500 exhibits a good combination of stiffness, toughness, mechanical damping ability with wear & abrasion resistance.

Hygard® CG Containment Grade Polycarbonate Sheet.
Designed to meet specific levels of containment within detention facilities, Hygard CG laminates offer superior performance compared to all glass or glass clad polycarbonate products. In the event of an attack, Hygard Containment Grade laminates will not "spider web" or spall allowing for complete vision, which can be critical for appropriate response from control and corrections officers.

- Hygard® CG375: 2-ply security glazing - Hygard® CG375 containment grade sheet is a 0.375", 2-ply polycarbonate laminate that meets ASTM F 1915 and HP White TP 0500. Unlike glass-clad products, this all-polycarbonate laminate resists spalling and white-out after repeated high force impacts, an advantage in maintaining visibility of a threat during an attack. All Hygard products incorporate Makrolonï¾— polycarbonate sheet produced for high optical quality in security glazing laminates. Exterior surfaces have a proprietary Makrolon AR hardcoat that facilitates cleaning and resists marring, chemical attack, and graffiti.
- Hygard® CG500: 3-ply security glazing - Hygard® CG500 containment grade sheet is a 0.500", 3-ply polycarbonate laminate that meets ASTM F 1233 Class II and HP White TP 0500 Level A Ballistics (.38 Special), single shot. Unlike glass-clad products, this all-polycarbonate laminate resists spalling and white-out after repeated high force and ballistic impacts, an advantage in maintaining visibility of a threat during an attack. All Hygard products incorporate Makrolon polycarbonate sheet produced for high optical quality in security glazing laminates. Exterior surfaces have a proprietary Makrolon AR hardcoat that facilitates cleaning and resists marring, chemical, and graffiti attack.
- Hygard® CG750: 3-ply security glazing; highest protection - Hygard® CG750 containment grade sheet is a 0.750", 3-ply polycarbonate laminate that meets ASTM F 1233 Class III and HP White TP 0500.02 Level A Ballistics (9 mm), single shot. Unlike glass-clad products, this all-polycarbonate laminate resists spalling and white-out after repeated high force and ballistic impacts, an advantage in maintaining visibility of a threat during an attack. All Hygard products incorporate Makrolon polycarbonate sheet produced for high optical quality in security glazing laminates. Exterior surfaces have a proprietary Makrolon AR hardcoat that facilitates cleaning and resists marring, chemical attack, and graffiti. IPC, in cooperation with DSCC, has developed an IPC specification for base materials for rigid and multilayer printed boards (IPC4101) that will effectively replace MIL-S-13949 and the IPC "L" series of specifications (L-108, L-109, L-112 and L-115). IPC4101 was released for publication in December 1997 as the replacement standard for both military and commercial purchases of laminate and prepreg. It contains much of the language used in MIL-S-13949, including the requirements in the familiar Group "A", "B", and "C" inspections.

Kel-F - PCTFE (PolyChloroTriFluoroEthylene) Kel F is a fluorocarbon-based polymer and is commonly abbreviated PCTFE. PCTFE offers the unique combination of physical and mechanical properties, nonflammability, chemical resistance, near zero moisture absorption, and excellent electrical properties. These characteristics cannot be found in any other thermoplastic fluoropolymer with a useful temperature range of -400°F to +400°F. PCTFE also has extremely low outgassing, making it well suited for use in aerospace and flight applications. Note: Kel-F® is a registered tradename of 3M Company. In 1996, 3M discontinued manufacturing of Kel-F & today, all PCTFE resin is manufactured by Daikin under the tradename of Neoflon ® or by Allied Signal under the tradename of Aclon ®. Kel-F is still the most commonly used tradename used to describe PCTFE.

How to Clean: -
Scrub the material with a strong bristle brush and professional strength detergent to remove any detritus or stains. Rinse with hot water. Sanitize with a ten percent bleach solution. Rinse thoroughly with cold water. King CuttingColors materials are dishwasher safe. Remove from the dishwasher before the drying cycle for the best result. Allow to air dry.
