  • Densetec™ Marine Board
Densetec™ High Density Polyethylene Marine Board is specially formulated to withstand the rigors of harsh outdoor marine environments. It is UV-stabilized to resist damage and retain its beauty, even after years of direct sunlight. Densetec™ is replacing wood and laminates in boating applications, because it does not splinter, crack, delaminate, rot, swell or absorb water like traditional materials. Even under heavy foot traffic on yacht decks, it remains virtually maintenance-free. There is no need to stain or paint Densetec Marine Board every few years. The color is integrated with the polymer and retains its vibrant appearance better than painted wood. Fabrication and finishing are easy with standard woodworking tools. Densetec&trade Marine Board forms easily for smooth curves and bends.

  • Nylon 6/12 - Moisture Resistant
Nylon 6/12 has a lower modulus, higher elongation, lower strength, lower thermal distortion temperature, lower hardness, and lower melting point than Nylon 6/6. However, Nylon 6/12 absorbs half as much water on Nylon 6/6. Thus, even though the properties may not be as good as Nylon 6/6 in dry conditions; the properties of Nylon 6/12 will be much more consistent when it is used in applications in which water may be present. The absorption of water has a significant effect on the properties of nylon.

  • PPS Film (Polyphenylene Sulfide)
PPS (Polyphenylene Sulfide) film is an impact-modified, unreinforced extrusion grade. PPS offers high tensile elongation, unusual flexibility and ductility. Film also has high temperature resistance, impact strength and flexibility. This new grade retains many of the traditional benefits of Fortron® PPS including excellent adhesion to nylons and polyolefins, high chemical resistance and very low fuel permeation. For example: .005" film of Fortron® PPS SKX-382 has a gasoline (CE10) permeability rate of 0.121 g mm/m2/day, which is far less than that of nylon, polyketone and other resins often used with gasoline and other fuels.

Impact-resistant PPS Fortron® SKX-382 impact-modified polyphenylene sulfide exhibits unusual ductility and flexibility. It has a high melt strength for extrusion or blowmolding as a monolayer or as part of multilayer structures. It adheres well to nylons and polyolefins. Its tensile elongation at break is 25%, while its flexural modulus is 2140 MPa and its notched Izod impact strength is 40 kJ/m2. Also offered in Ryton® PPS Film. PPS is generally used in applications where high temperature and chemical resistance are required. A continuous use temperature of 428° F and short term properties at 500° F allow PPS to be used in automotive, electronic (solderability) and many OEM applications. PPS offers the broadest resistance to chemicals of any advanced engineering plastic. They have no known solvents below 392°F (200°C) and are inert to steam, strong bases, fuels and acids. Minimal moisture absorption and a very low coefficient of linear thermal expansion, combined with stress-relieving manufacturing, make PPS ideally suited for precise tolerance machined components. As an unfilled material, PPS is easily machined to close tolerances. It is ideal for structural applications in corrosive environments or as a lower temperature replacement for PEEK.
    • Natural Fortron® PPS SKX-382 and Ryton® film color is Off White

  • Semitron® ESd 520HR - ESd PAI
Semitron® ESd 520HR has an industry first combination of electrostatic dissipation (ESd), high strength and heat resistance. This new ESd material is ideal for making nests, sockets and contactors for test equipment and other device handling components. The key features of 520HR are its unique ability to resist dielectric breakdown at high voltages (>100V). Typical carbon fiber enhanced products become irreversibly more conductive when exposed to even moderate voltage. Only Semitron® ESd 520HR maintains its performance throughout the voltage range, while offering the mechanical performance needed to excel in demanding applications.

IC Device Testing Fixtures A test fixture manufacturer recently began using Semitron ESd 520HR that combines electrostatic dissipation (ESD) and high mechanical strength, to make integrated circuit test heads. The high mechanical strength of Semitron® ESd 520HR results in longer useful life of the test heads and, thus, greater units (tested) per hour. Semitron ESd 520HR is the first product to reliably meet all physical performance needs for test nests, sockets and contactors, combined with ESd performance. It is both ESd (surface resistivity of 1010 to 1012 ohms/square) and has sufficient resistance to minimize the risk of leakage (cross-talk). Also significant is the ability of Semitron ESd 520HR to retain its surface resistivity at electrical forces greater than 100 volts.
    • Available from USA, Singapore and Taiwan stock.
