Glass
Glass is a uniform material of arguable phase, usually produced when the viscous molten material cools very rapidly to below its glass transition temperature, without sufficient time for a regular crystal lattice to form. The most familiar form of glass is the Silica-based material used for household objects such as light bulbs and windows.
Glass is a biologically inactive material that can be formed into smooth and impervious surfaces. Glass is brittle and will break into sharp shards. These properties can be modified or changed with the addition of other compounds or heat treatment.
Common glass contains about 70-72 weight % of silicon dioxide (SiO2). The major raw material is sand (or "quartz sand") that contains almost 100% of crystalline silica in the form of quartz. Although it is an almost pure quartz, it may still contain a small amount (< 1%) of iron oxides that would color the glass, so this sand is usually enriched in the factory to reduce the iron oxide amount to < 0.05%. Large natural single crystals of quartz are purer silicon dioxide, and upon crushing are used for high quality specialty glasses. Synthetic amorphous silica (practically 100% pure) is the raw material for the most expensive specialty glasses.

Halar® 901 and Halar® 902 ECTFE Sheets and Rods - Halar ECTFE is a partially fluorinated semi-crystalline polymer offering a unique combination of mechanical properties, thermal and chemical resistance with an outstanding ease of processability. Halar ECTFE, a copolymer of ethylene and chlorotrifluoroethylene, can bring advantages to the end user when compared to other fluoropolymers. It is a very versatile polymer, available in all forms to meet processing needs. Halar offers excellent resistance to abrasion, harsh chemicals, and permeation.
Halar® ECTFE is typically stocked in USA, Singapore & Taiwan warehouses, but due to current supply constraints, many suppliers have this resin on limited allocation.

Hastelloy® C-276
HASTELLOY® C-276® is a wrought corrosion-resistant alloy. A prime advantage of this alloy is that it generally does not require solution heat treatment after welding. Hastelloy resists the formation of grain boundary precipitates that would degrade corrosion resistance. Alloy C-276 offers improved fabricability over the similarly corrosion-resistant Alloy C. Conventional methods can be used to hot work and cold form Alloy C-276, and typical welding techniques are appropriate. Resistant to forming grain boundary precipitates in the weld-affected zone, Alloy C-276 is appropriate in the as-welded condition for many chemical processes. Other benefits include resistance to pitting, stress-corrosion cracking and oxidation to 1900° F (1038° C).
Hastelloy® C276 is used for rotors, bolts, shafts, blades and other components in marine applications and other industries, including pollution control; food, waste and chemical processing; paper operations; and multipurpose plants. Tungsten has been added to this versatile nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy, which resists crevice corrosion, stress corrosion cracking, and pitting. Resistant to chloride ions and sulfur blends, Hastelloy C 276 is ideal for flue gas desulfurization applications.

Effective September 9, 2021, Vycom has discontinued the production of Kytec® PVDF products. LEXAN™ sheet (type LEXAN 9034 standard): In thicknesses of .125", Lexan™ 9034 sheet will transmit 86% of the light. LEXAN™ Sheet is UV stabilized, has a heat deflection temperature of 270° F at 264 PSI, and has a smoke density rating less than 75. LEXAN® 9034 is engineered for window glazing as well as for sign applications. In addition to colorless (clear), Lexan™ 9034 is available in solar gray and bronze in thicknesses from .080" to .500". Supplier of LEXAN™ 9034 uncoated polycarbonate sheet which is the standard grade of LEXAN™ sheet for general purpose applications. High-impact LEXAN™ 9034 can be used for economical protection against breakage or intrusion. A better insulator than glass, Lexan sheet contributes to lower energy costs. Lexan sheet boasts an impact strength 250 times greater than that of glass and 30 times greater than acrylic. This strength and flexibility has made Lexan sheet an indispensable material for a wide variety of applications.
