  • Acetal SD - static-dissipative
Acetal SD (aka POM SD, ESd Acetal) products are inherently dissipative and electrically stable unlike many other static"dissipative" plastic shapes. They do not rely on atmospheric phenomena to activate, nor are surface treatments used to achieve dissipation. Static electricity is dissipated through these products as readily as it is dissipated along the surface. All of these products dissipate 5 KV in less than 2 seconds per Mil-B-81705C. Acetal SD (ESd) is ideal for fixturing used in the manufacturing of hard disk drives or for handling in-process silicon wafers. POM SD - ESd Acetal is stocked at Professional Plastics locations in the USA, Singapore & Taiwan.

  • Acetal Square Bar
Acetal Square Bars provide high strength and stiffness coupled with enhanced dimensional stability and ease of machining. As a semi-crystalline material, acetal is also characterized by a low coefficient of friction and good wear properties especially in wet environments. Because of its high strength, modulus, and resistance to impact and fatigue, Acetal Square Bar Stock is used as a weight-saving metal replacement. Parts made from Acetal copolymer overcome the problem of centerline porosity in large shapes of Acetal Homopolymer (aka Delrin)
    • Sold in Standard 10 foot lengths - May be cut-in-half for shipping

  • Acetron® GP FDA Colors
Acetron® GP FDA Colors is a new FDA-Compliant Colored Acetal. Improved process technology now allows MCAM-Quadrant Engineering Plastic Products to offer seven standard FDA-compliant colors of Acetron® GP acetal rod in small quantities and drastically-reduced lead times.
The new capability in colored stock shapes for machining overcomes the historical two to three months' lead time and high minimum order volume requirements due to resin and shapes production limitations. All of the new Acetron® GP colors meet the requirements of FDA Regulation 21 CFR, Section 177.2470 (e)(1),(2).
The colors are ideal where change-out parts need to be quickly and easily identified for use on specific processes.
MCAM-Quadrant's Acetron® GP, in red, blue, green, yellow, orange, gray and brown, is available within 3-4 weeks from date of order, in quantities of about 200 lbs per size and color, depending on diameter. Sample discs are available for specification purposes.
The colors are strictly intended for industrial, pharmaceutical and food-related applications, and are not suitable for medical orthopedic use, at this time.
This standard set of colors gives engineers access to Acetron GP acetal's porosity-free, low stress and cost-effective performance in machined parts, while adding increased functionality to their end product. The breakthrough is our ability to compress the time and volume formerly necessary for colors from the resin supplier and in our own shapes production.

  • Alumina 99.5% (Al2O3)
      Alumina 99.5% (Al2O3)
Alumina (Al2O3) is one of the most widely specified, general-purpose technical ceramics. All aluminas are very hard and wear resistant, with high compressive strength even against extreme temperatures and corrosive environments. Aluminas are also excellent electrical insulators and are gas tight.

Alumina is produced by firing a tightly packed powder form of Al2O3 which includes some binder material. Commercially available grades range from 90% up to 99.95% with the higher purity generating somewhat higher hardness. It is possible to machine alumina using diamond grinding techniques. Polishing is also possible, with the degree attainable affected by alumina grain size and production technique, whether pressed or extruded.

90%-97% - Best suited for metalizing (metal deposition which allows brazing) because of large grain structure.

98%-99.95% - Common range for isostatically pressed grades, with extruded shapes also available at low cost.

As-fired tolerances are generally only possible within a few percent of dimension. Extremely tight tolerances are attainable, but only by precision machining the fired part using diamond grinding techniques. This adds considerable cost, but tolerances to millionths of an inch are possible, and are often cost effective due to the extraordinary stability and durability of the finished piece.

  • Aluminum
Aluminum shapes (aluminum plates, bars & profiles) are available for online purchase from Professional Plastics.

Aluminum 6061 is a heat-treatable grade widely used in light to medium strength structural applications. The alloy has good corrosion resistance and weldability and possesses good formability in the 0 to T4 tempers. 6061 does lose appreciable strength when welded and it is replaced by the 5000 series alloys where afterweld strength is a prime consideration. 6061 is used in structural areas where both strength and corrosion resistance is required, truck bodies and frames, and towers.

  • Beryllium Copper Alloy 25
Beryllium Copper 25 is a Copper base alloy with the capability of being strengthened by precipitation heat treatment. The alloy furnishes the best combination of electrical conductivity, corrosion resistance and mechanical strength necessary for numerous electronic and electro-mechanical devices.

Beryllium Copper 25 alloy is quite satisfactory for fabrication with good formability and joining characteristics. Forming is readily accomplished from the annealed temper. Severe bending will be less successful from hard or heat treated tempers and requires large fold radius ratios.

Beryllium Copper 25 is able to be soldered, brazed, and welded by most standard techniques. The brazing temperature must be kept under 1450° F and cycle time minimized to avoid loss of heat treated strength. Heat treating should be performed subsequent to welding to obtain uniform high strength. The alloy is not susceptible to an increase in magnetic attraction from plastic deformation during service such as occurs with the ferromagnetic stainless steels.

  • Celazole® PBI (U-60)
Celazole PBI (grade U-60 - Compression-Molded 100% PBI) is the highest performance engineering thermoplastic available today. It offers the highest heat resistance and mechanical property retention over 400°F of any unfilled plastic. Celazole PBI has better wear resistance and load carrying capabilities at extreme temperatures than any other reinforced or unreinforced engineering plastic.

Celazole U-60 PBI is an unfilled PBI polymer suitable for compression molding. U-60 is commonly molded and machined into precision parts for industrial, chemical and petrochemical industries; aerospace; glass making; liquid crystal display (LCD) panel manufacture; and photovoltaic (PV) panel manufacture.

As an unreinforced material, Celazole PBI is very "clean" in terms of ionic impurity and it does not outgas (except water). These characteristics make this material very attractive to semiconductor manufacturers for vacuum chamber applications. Celazole PBI has excellent ultrasonic transparency which makes it an ideal choice for parts such as probe tip lenses in ultrasonic measuring equipment.

Celazole PBI is also an excellent thermal insulator. Other plastics in melt do not stick to PBI. These characteristics make it ideal for contact seals and insulator bushings in plastic production and molding equipment.
    • Highest mechanical properties of any plastic above 400°F (204°C)
    • Highest heat deflection temperature 800°F (427°C), with a continuous service capability of 750°F (399°C) in inert environments, or 650°F (343°C) in air with short term exposure potential to 1,000°F (538°C)
    • Lowest coefficient of thermal expansion and highest compressive strength of all unfilled plastics
    • Celazole is stocked in our USA, Singapore & Taiwan Warehouses
