  • CPVC-300 - ESd FM 4910 Sheet
CPVC-300™ - ESd FM 4910 Sheet (General Purpose Grade)
Static Dissipative Plastic - CPVC Sheet
CPVC-300™ FM 4910 is a plastic sheet product that controls static electricity in clean room applications requiring flame retardant clear plastic. These applications include: clean room glazing; machine windows, doors, covers and enclosures; and fabricated desiccators and cabinets. The product is a Factory Mutual 4910* compliant chlorinated polyvinyl chloride sheet coated with SciCron Technologies clear, C-300™ static dissipative coating to prevent charge generation on the sheet surfaces. This controls particulate attraction and prevents electrostatic discharge (ESD) events completely independent of humidity. CPVC-300 - FM 4910 has excellent flammability and smoke generation properties, plus superior chemical resistance, surface hardness, and mar resistance.

*The CPVC substrate used to make this product has been tested according to procedures outlined in the Factory Mutual Clean Room Materials Flammability Test Protocol (Class 4910) and is listed as an approved material in the Factory Mutual Research Approval Guide. It has been formulated to resist fire and to emit low levels of smoke when tested according to this protocol. The C-300 coated product, CPVC-300 - FM-4910, has not been similarily tested by Factory Mutual Research, however, it is very unlikely that the presence of the C-300 coating on the sheet sufaces has any influence on the flammability characteristics of the sheet when tested according to the 4910 protocol. The C-300 coating, which is only one micron thick, is formulated with an incombustible conductive metal oxide which makes up 66% of the coating weight. The remainder of the coating adds less than 0.3 gram of combustible binder per square foot of coated sheet surface. The addition of such a small fractional percentage of combustible material is extremely difficult to detect.

  • DuraStick® PTFE Coated Tapes
DuraStick® PTFE Coated Tapes are engineered to retain the distinctive properties of PTFE; however, by adding a glass fabric to the matrix, DuraStick is able to obtain the added benefits of dimensional stability, durability, excellent tensile strength, and extremely low elongation (<1%). The addition of an adhesive on one side eliminates the need for mechanical fastening. Tapes with silicone adhesive operate over a wide temperature range, -100°F to 500°F (-73°C to 260°C), while tapes with acrylic adhesive operate over a narrower range of temperatures, -40°F to 350°F (-40°C to 177°C).

The DuraStick® Industrial Tapes utilize DuraFab® Industrial Fabrics but have the added benefit of an adhesive on one side. These tapes are manufactured from woven fiberglass substrates, possess an optimal PTFE (Fluon®) content, leave a minimal fabric impression, and have a proprietary silicone or acrylic adhesive system. Because of the glass reinforcement, this series of tape is resistant to "cold-flow", a characteristic inherent in pure unsupported PTFE films, these tapes are an excellent choice when cut-through, load carrying, or harsh industrial environments require the unique surface characteristics of PTFE. This popular and versatile line of tapes provides the highest value to customers by offering an excellent balance of heat transfer, release, and flexibility.

  • Foamlite® P Lightweight Sheet
Foamlite® P is a PP-C-based lightweight construction material. With a density of 0.65 g/cm3, Foamlite® P offers clear weight advantages over a sheet made of compact polypropylene at 0.915 g/cm3. The material also has an excellent combination of toughness, high rigidity, strength and chemical resistance. The surface is optionally available with a smooth finish or with a fine grain. Rochling developed the closed-pore foamed material Foamlite® P especially for applications in which construction materials need to have a very low weight and have a high level of mechanical stability. This opens up a wide range of possibilities in lightweight design.

30 per cent lighter than standard solid PP-C Sheets Foamlite® P lightweight boards are nearly 30 per cent lighter than comparable compact polypropylene sheets. Depending on the application, the lightweight plastic sheet saves on materials, conserves resources and is easy to handle. This gives you completely new possibilities in the design of your application and in dimension in gas well as economic advantages.

Applications: Flight case panels made of Foamlite® lightweight construction material provide for very light and durable plastic flight cases. Whether for concerts, racing or trade fair construction: if high-quality equipment such as event technology, measuring instruments or medical devices need to be securely protected and transported quickly from A to B, robust and lightweight flight cases are required. • Noxtat SD Polycarbonate Sheet
Noxtat SD polycarbonate sheets are coated with a transparent metal/plastic material that will permanently prevent formation of static electricity on the surface.

      Available in Two Types:
    • Noxtat SDG - Non Bendable Polycarbonate with Static Dissipative Coating- Excellent Abrasion Resistance.
    • Noxtat SDB Static Dissipative Coating- Bendable To A Soft Radii - Abrasion Resistant.

The surface has excellent mar and abrasion resistance. Resistance to charge generation, and superior static decay characteristics and cannot be tribocharged. The product displays excellent control of both electrostatic discharge (ESD) and particulate attraction. Permanent characteristics are not affected by humidity

      Applications:
NOXTAT SD polycarbonate plastic is a sound choice for manufacturing applications where effects of ESD could cause rejects or hidden latent damage to sensitive electronic devices. This product is widely used in the semi-conductor, electronic and micro-manufacturing industries. Noxtat is also used in other industrial applications such as screen assembly, packaging, explosive environments where static discharge must be prevented and applications where sensitive process instrumentation and equipment must be protected from static charge. Typical Parts Made from Noxtat SD: - ESd Covers, Guards, Access Panels, Machine Windows and Doors, Static Control Shields, Glove Boxes, Electronic Equipment, Process Instrumentation, Conveyor Line Covers, Clean Room Windows and Doors, Partitions, and Pass-Through Modules.

The polycarbonate sheet may be fabricated into a wide variety of shapes using the equipment used for uncoated sheet products. The product is not suitable, however, for most heat-formed configurations because the hard cross-linked polymer surface is not designed for heat bending. NOXTAT SDB™ has been designed for heat bending. When gluing it is necessary to mechanically remove the coating surface to insure a good bond. More information about fabrication is provided in a Technical Information Bulletin.

      Product Availability:
NOXTAT SD Polycarbonate is available in clear, transparent gray, and transparent bronze colors. Tints for UV filtering and other light filtering are available by special order for applications where some wavelengths may interfere with processing operations.

      Hardness
Polycarbonate coated with static dissipative NOXTAT SDG will perform on the pencil hardness scale at 2B, clearly the hardest coating available today.

      Solvent Resistance
Solvent resistance of the test surfaces was determined using ASTM D 1308 (3.3.3 Spot Test, Covered). The solvent was placed on the substrate surface and immediately covered with a watch glass. Solvents were repeatedly applied to keep them in contact with the surface. Tests were conducted at 77° F (25° C). The surface was examined at intervals of 1,4,8 and 16 hours for signs of attack such as blistering, peeling, or discoloration. The test was terminated at 16 hours. The table indicates the time at which the visual attack of the surface becomes evident.

      Noxtat Stain Resistance
Stain resistance of the test surfaces was determined using ASTM D 1308 (3.3.3 Spot Test, Covered). The stain was applied to the substrate surface (a saturated one inch piece of tissue paper was used for the liquid stains) and immediately covered with a watch glass. The test was conducted at 122° F (50° C). The stain was allowed to remain in contact with the surface for 16 hours. At the end of this period excess stain was removed with dry tissue. The degree of staining was observed and recorded based on a scale of 0 to 5 where 0 represents no staining and 5 represents severe staining.
