  • Balls - Hollow Plastic PP & HDPE
Hollow Plastic Balls are spheres that can float on surface of liquid in open tank and thereby greatly reduce the exposed liquid surface area - up to 90%. Dramatically diminish objectionable fumes and odors. Blanket of spheres also insulates heated liquid reducing evaporation and heat requirements. Ideal for plating tanks and similar open tank installations where the liquid surface can be covered with a blanket of spheres without impeding access to the tank for process purposes. Spheres are hollow and will float on any liquid. No welt or rim on which chemicals can deposit, and being smooth they ensure a much tighter surface cover.

Types of Hollow Plastic Balls available from Professional Plastics:
    • Polypropylene (PP) is non-toxic and able to withstand continuous working temperatures of 110° C (230°F) Polypropylene is suitable for use in most known chemicals.
    • High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) generally suitable as above but with a continuous working temperature limitation of 80° C. (176° F) softening point about 110° C (230°F). High density polyethylene has better chemical resistance to certain compounds like oil, and other hydro-carbons. Also less stress cracking at low temperatures than polypropylene. Color white translucent except 100 mm, black for outside use. All sizes are blow molded.

  • Beryllium Copper Alloy 25
Beryllium Copper 25 is a Copper base alloy with the capability of being strengthened by precipitation heat treatment. The alloy furnishes the best combination of electrical conductivity, corrosion resistance and mechanical strength necessary for numerous electronic and electro-mechanical devices.

Beryllium Copper 25 alloy is quite satisfactory for fabrication with good formability and joining characteristics. Forming is readily accomplished from the annealed temper. Severe bending will be less successful from hard or heat treated tempers and requires large fold radius ratios.

Beryllium Copper 25 is able to be soldered, brazed, and welded by most standard techniques. The brazing temperature must be kept under 1450° F and cycle time minimized to avoid loss of heat treated strength. Heat treating should be performed subsequent to welding to obtain uniform high strength. The alloy is not susceptible to an increase in magnetic attraction from plastic deformation during service such as occurs with the ferromagnetic stainless steels.

  • CPVC Pipe
CPVC Pipe - For Superior Corrosion Resistance in High Temperature Applications
Harvel CPVC pipe is produced from a specialty blend of Corzan® CPVC material with unique physical properties desirable for piping applications (i.e., improved impact resistance and good fire resistance capabilities). The CPVC product line includes schedules 40 and 80 piping from 1/4" through 16" diameters. Harvel CPVC piping systems can handle more than three-fourths of the temperature/pressure requirements of today's typical process plants. CPVC pressure pipe has an upper working temperature limit of 200°F (93°C), or approximately 60°F (15°C) above that of Type I Grade I PVC. As with all thermoplastic piping systems, CPVC's ability to withstand pressure varies with pipe diameter, wall thickness, and temperature. For pressure piping applications it is recommended for temperatures as high as 200°F (93°C) when appropriate temperature de-rating factors are applied. As the pipe diameter and temperature increases, the pressure rating of the product decreases. For example, 1/2" Schedule 80 CPVC pipe is engineered for continuous service of 850 psi @ 73°F (23°C). The same pipe in service @ 180°F (82°C) carries a maximum working pressure rating of 210 psi at this temperature. 6" Schedule 80 CPVC pipe is designed for 270 psi @ 73°F, and 54 psi @ 200°F.
