ABS Sheets & Rods - Machine Grade ABS Sheets & Rods. ABS has perhaps the best balance of properties when cost is a factor. It has good chemical & stress-resistance, as well as, a combination of toughness with rigidity & creep resistance. Machine Grade ABS is easily machined via standard machining techniques including; turning, drilling, milling, and sawing. For heat-bending and thermoformed parts, use ABS Forming Grade.
Engineering Grade ABS is available in Rods & Sheets to customer specifications:
ABS Rods are produced up to 6" diameter in standard 8 foot lengths (Prices Listed Per Foot).
ABS Sheets / Plates are available in two types - Compression-Molded or Extruded:
- Compression Molded Sheets are available up to 4" thick in 48" x 96"
- Standard Thickness Tolerance of Compression-Molded Sheets is +/-10%.
- PLUS ONLY Compression-Molded Sheets are available upon request at an additional cost.
- Extruded Sheets are produced up to 24" x 48", and are sold upon special request only.
- Note: Extruded Sheets have a better thickness tolerance than molded sheets. (also more expensive)

Polycarbonate - Machine Grade Plate - Sheet
Polycarbonate - Machine Grade Plate (thick sheet for engineering grade parts)
Machine-grade polycarbonate is an amorphous thermoplastic material with high-impact strength, high modulus of elasticity, and good dimensional stability. These properties, in addition to good electrical characteristics, make machine grade polycarbonate stock shapes an excellent choice for electrical/electronic applications. Its strength, impact resistance and optical properties also make it an ideal material for certain structural applications that require visual translucency.

PEEK Screws
PEEK Screws, Nuts, Threaded Rods & Other Fastener Components are available from Professional Plastics.
PEEK is a high performance engineering thermoplastic that offers chemical and water resistance similar to PPS, but can operate at higher temperatures. PEEK can be used continuously to 480°F (250°C) and in hot water or steam without permanent loss in physical properties. For hostile environments, PEEK is a high strength alternative to fluoropolymers. PEEK carries a V-0 flammability rating and exhibits very low smoke and toxic gas emission when exposed to flame.

AC-300™ Acrylic is a plastic sheet product that controls static electricity in many applications, including windows, doors, machine covers and enclosures, and fabricated desiccators and cabinets. It is a premium quality acrylic sheet coated with SciCron Technologies clear, C-300™ static dissipative coating which prevents charge generation on the sheet surfaces. This controls particulate attraction and prevents electrostatic discharge (ESD) events completely independent of humidity. AC-300 Acrylic fabricates simply, is light in weight and is available in large sheet sizes. It has excellent optical properties, chemical resistance, surface hardness and mar resistance.

Acrylic Rods - Cast Plexiglass Rod - CLEAR
Plexiglass Cast acrylic rods offer excellent clarify & machining characteristics when compared to extruded rods. This material offers good chemical-resistance & is FDA approved for food contact.
Acrylic offers high light transmittance and can be easily heat-formed without loss of optical clarity. Prolonged exposure to moisture, or even total immersion in water, does not significantly effect the mechanical or optical properties of this outstanding economical and multi-purpose material.

Acrylic Tubes - Extruded
Clear Extruded Acrylic Tubes (aka Plexiglass tubes) are sold in standard 6 ft lengths. Minimum order quantities may apply on certian sizes. Extruded Acrylic material does not machine and polish as well as cast because of its lower-heat distortion point. It is ideal for reinforcing and decorative work.

Arlon® 1000 PEEK
Arlon® 1000 is a tough, high-temperature, semi-crystalline thermoplastic offering a unique combination of mechanical, thermal, chemical and electrical properties. Recognized as the leading proprietary Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) in terms of its physical properties, Arlon 1000 is available in rod, tube and disc components as well as injection-molded and machined shapes.
Arlon® 2000 PEEK
Because of its higher glass transition temperatures, Arlon 2000 provides extreme temperature applications with improved mechanical properties to 400°F (204°C). Arlon 2000 exhibits a higher melting point and a higher glass transition temperature (Tg) than Arlon 1000. This has a significant beneficial impact on its mechanical properties at higher temperatures. Arlon 2000 exhibits higher flexural and tensile properties at higher temperatures. Arlon 2000 has yield stress values significantly higher than those for Arlon 1000. Arlon 2000 is available in custom injection molded shapes, rods and tubes.
Arlon® 1160 Glass-Reinforced Grade PEEK
Arlon 1160 is a glass-reinforced version of Arlon 1000 which delivers improved dimensional stability and reduced springing. When compared to Arlon 1000, Arlon 1160 has significantly higher tensile and flexural strength and increased shear strength. Arlon 1160 is often selected when the operating temperature exceeds 302°F (150°C). The addition of glass raises the HDT (Heat Deformation Temperature) to 608°F (320°C), increases the modulus of the material, and reduces the coefficient of thermal expansion. Other benefits include a lower coefficient of friction and improved wear properties. Arlon 1160 and related grades are successfully being used as sealing components, valve seats, bearings, compressor components and high-temperature insulators. Arlon 1160 is available in custom injection-molded shapes, rods to 1 in. (25.4 mm) diameter, tubes from .5 in. (12.7 mm) ID to 6 in. (152.4 mm) OD with a maximum cross-section of .87 in. (22 mm), and discs to 15 in. (380 mm) diameter.
Arlon® 1260 Carbon-Fiber-Reinforced Grade PEEK
Arlon 1260 is a carbon-fiber reinforced version of Arlon 1000 and has the highest modulus and tensile strength, and shear of all the Arlon grades. Designers often select Arlon 1260 when they require a low coefficient of thermal expansion. Arlon 1260 provides enhanced tribological properties, reduced friction values and improved wear properties over Arlon 1000. Arlon 1260 delivers the most benefits in lubricated bearing and/or moist environments. Arlon 1260 is available in custom injection-molded shapes, rods to .75 in. (19 mm) diameter, tubes from .5 in. (12.7 mm) ID to 6 in. (152.4 mm) OD, and discs to 15 in. (380 mm). NOTE: Arlon 1260 is subject to some limitations regarding moldings. Arlon 1260 is not recommended for shapes with a cross-section greater than .63 in. (16 mm).
Arlon® 1330 Lubricated Grade PEEK
Arlon 1330 is a lubricated version of Arlon 1000. Modifications have resulted in a "softer" material as demonstrated by the lower flexural modulus values. Friction values are also reduced. Arlon 1330 is the material of choice for valve seats and sealing components where the reduced modulus values facilitate sealing. Arlon 1330 is available in custom injection-molded shapes, rods to 1 in. (25.4 mm) diameter, tubes from .5 in. (12.7 mm) ID to 6 in. (152.4 mm) OD, discs to 15 in. (380 mm) diameter, and rings to 13 in. (330 mm) diameter.
Arlon® 1555 - Carbon-Fiber / Lubricated Grade PEEK
The compounding of carbon fibers with a lubricated version of Arlon 1000 results in a high HDT temperature, improved tensile and flexural properties at elevated temperatures and a reduced coefficient of thermal expansion. The reduced coefficient of friction and improved wear properties are also evidence of improved tribological properties. Arlon 1555 is most often used in nonlubricated or marginally lubricated bearing applications or wear surfaces. Arlon 1555 is available in custom injection-molded shapes, rods to 1 in. (25.4 mm) diameter, tubes from .5 in. (12.7 mm) ID to 6 in. (152.4 mm) OD with a maximum cross-section of 1 in. (25.4 mm) and discs to 15 in. (380 mm) diameter.
Arlon® 2400 PEEK
Arlon 2400 provides the same broad chemical resistance of other Arlon materials but with higher temperature capabilities and increased dimensional stability. Arlon 2400 has the ability to replace metal parts in high-temperature applications due to its excellent strength-to-weight ratio. This high-performance material is compatible with all well fluids and gases, from reservoir fluids with high H2S to amine-based inhibitors. Arlon 2400 improves the performance of back-up rings, Vee rings, contact blocks, bearings, bushings and other custom geometries.
Arlon® 3000 XT PEEK
Arlon 3000 XT is the polymer of choice for extreme high-temperature environments. With improved creep and extrusion resistance, it outperforms both virgin and filled grades of PEEK and PEKEKK above 350°F (177°C). It has a glass transition temperature 35°F (20°C) higher than PEEK, providing superior mechanical property retention from 350°F (177°C) âÇô 600ºF (316ºC). And it has chemical resistance comparable to PEEK, resisting all common oilfield fluids. As back-up rings, connectors, or other custom shapes, Arlon 3000 XT increases reliability and expands design headroom in high-temperature applications.

Celazole® PBI (U-60)
Celazole PBI (grade U-60 - Compression-Molded 100% PBI) is the highest performance engineering thermoplastic available today. It offers the highest heat resistance and mechanical property retention over 400°F of any unfilled plastic. Celazole PBI has better wear resistance and load carrying capabilities at extreme temperatures than any other reinforced or unreinforced engineering plastic.
Celazole U-60 PBI is an unfilled PBI polymer suitable for compression molding. U-60 is commonly molded and machined into precision parts for industrial, chemical and petrochemical industries; aerospace; glass making; liquid crystal display (LCD) panel manufacture; and photovoltaic (PV) panel manufacture.
As an unreinforced material, Celazole PBI is very "clean" in terms of ionic impurity and it does not outgas (except water). These characteristics make this material very attractive to semiconductor manufacturers for vacuum chamber applications. Celazole PBI has excellent ultrasonic transparency which makes it an ideal choice for parts such as probe tip lenses in ultrasonic measuring equipment.
Celazole PBI is also an excellent thermal insulator. Other plastics in melt do not stick to PBI. These characteristics make it ideal for contact seals and insulator bushings in plastic production and molding equipment.
- Highest mechanical properties of any plastic above 400°F (204°C)
- Highest heat deflection temperature 800°F (427°C), with a continuous service capability of 750°F (399°C) in inert environments, or 650°F (343°C) in air with short term exposure potential to 1,000°F (538°C)
