    • Thermal Class: 200 ° C
    • NEMA: TF-1, TYPE 5
    • MIL-I-3190/6, MIL-P-18057 (grade A)
    • UL FILE: E123956 (grade A)
      Description
TURBO™ 117E is comprised of specially formulated high temperature silicone rubber extruded onto premium electrical grade braided fiberglass sleeving. The extrusion process results in a higher density coating that is more homogeneous, has better concentricity and yields longer continuous lengths than the typical liquid dipped products common to the industry.

      Recomended Use
TURBO™117E is used for insulation of leads and connections in electrical and electronic components ( transformers, coils, relays, solenoids etc.) where temperature extremes from -70°C through 200°C are encountered. Silicone rubber coated glass sleeving is the only flexible insulating material which remains useful for continuous service in ambient temperatures from -70°C through +200°C.

      Physical Properties
    • Thermal:
TURBO™ 117E is rated Class H by IEEE standards, acceptable for continuous service from -70°C through 200°C. Operation at temperatures up to 315°C is tolerated for short durations. TURBOT'" 117Eexceeds all requirements of UL Subject 224 for 200°C, 600-volt operation. It also exceeds the requirements of MIL-I-3190, MILP-18057, and ASTM D372.
    • Environmental:
TURBO™ 117E is resistant to moisture, corona, ozone, radiation, compression set, fungus, most chemicals and solvents, weathering, flexure fatigue and heat degradation.

  • Kapton® Tape (Silicone Adhesive)
Kapton® Tape (Silicone Adhesive) is a film, tough, thin, designed for high temperature applications; used on coils, capacitors with temperature rating 220°C application.

DuPont Kapton polyimide film can remain stable in a wide range of temperatures, from -273 °C to +400 °C (0 K - 673 K). Kapton is used in, among other things, flexible printed circuits (flexible electronics) and Thermal Micrometeoroid Garments, the outside layer of space suits. Kapton is also commonly used as a material for windows of all kinds at x-ray sources (synchrotron beam-lines and x-ray tubes) and x-ray detectors. Its high mechanical and thermal stability as well as its high transmittance to x-rays make it the preferred material. It also does not suffer from radiation damage. Another prominent material for these purposes is beryllium.

The thermal conductivity of Kapton in temperatures from 0.5 to 5 kelvin is rather high. This together with its good dielectric qualities and its availability as thin sheets have made it a favorite material in cryogenics (devices working in temperatures down to absolute zero, -273 °C or 0 K).

Kapton is also regularly used as an insulator in ultra-high vacuum environments as it has a low outgassing rate.

  • Silbrade® Braid Reinforced Silicone Hose
      Silbrade® Braid Reinforced Silicone Hose
The construction of SILBRADE enables silicone tubing to handle increased pressure applications. SILBRADE offers outstanding resistance to temperature extremes and is made from FDA-sanctioned ingredients. The flexible design and construction of SILBRADE allows excellent bend radii and permits installation in restricted spaces without impeding flow. SILBRADE, a peroxide-cured product, contains no sulphur or other acid-producing chemicals thereby eliminating the possibility of staining, corroding, or deteriorating other materials it contacts. It is also resistant to ozone and U.V. over long time periods. Care is recommended in the selection of fittings and clamps, as sharp barbed fittings or unlined metal clamps could tear into the hose wall and possibly cause a failure, especially at elevated pressures.
    • SILBRADE is not recommended for implantable or in-body uses or for continuous steam applications.

SILBRADE may be low pressure steam sterilized in-line or autoclaved at up to 250°F in a normal autoclaving cycle. However, if exposed to repeated steam sterilization or long-term high temperature or pressure, silicone will eventually relax and become gummy. It should then be replaced

Applications: - Adhesive Lines • Beverage Service • Bottle Filling • Chemical Feeds • Deionized Water Transfer • Fermenter Lines • Hot Fill Lines • Food Handling • Laboratory • Resin Feeds • Stirring Vessels • Brewery Beer Hose Lines • Viscous Material Handling
