Acetal-Platten und Acetal-Stäbe (auch bekannt als POM) Kunststoffplatten und Acetal-Stäbe aus Acetal-Copolymer bieten hohe Festigkeit und Steifigkeit gepaart mit verbesserter Dimensionsstabilität und einfacher Bearbeitung. Acetalstäbe und Acetalplatten zeichnen sich außerdem durch einen niedrigen Reibungskoeffizienten und gute Verschleißeigenschaften insbesondere in nassen Umgebungen aus. Aufgrund seiner hohen Festigkeit, seines Moduls sowie seiner Schlag- und Ermüdungsbeständigkeit wird Acetal als gewichtssparender Metallersatz verwendet. Acetal-Copolymer überwindet das häufige Problem der Mittellinienporosität in großen Formen von Acetal-Homopolymer (auch bekannt als Delrin).
Bei Hochdruckanwendungen, bei denen die Mittellinienporosität ein Problem darstellt, wird Acetalcopolymer gegenüber Delrin® bevorzugt.
Acetalcopolymer wird unter mehreren Markennamen hergestellt, darunter Celcon®, Ultraform® und Acetron®.
