OVERVIEW of Hygard® CG Containment Grade Polycarbonate
Hygard® CG Containment Grade Polycarbonate Sheet. Designed to meet specific levels of containment within detention facilities, Hygard CG laminates offer superior performance compared to all glass or glass clad polycarbonate products. In the event of an attack, Hygard Containment Grade laminates will not "spider web" or spall allowing for complete vision, which can be critical for appropriate response from control and corrections officers.
Grades / Formulations:
Hygard® CG375: 2-ply security glazing - Hygard® CG375 containment grade sheet is a 0.375", 2-ply polycarbonate laminate that meets ASTM F 1915 and HP White TP 0500. Unlike glass-clad products, this all-polycarbonate laminate resists spalling and white-out after repeated high force impacts, an advantage in maintaining visibility of a threat during an attack. All Hygard products incorporate Makrolonï¾— polycarbonate sheet produced for high optical quality in security glazing laminates. Exterior surfaces have a proprietary Makrolon AR hardcoat that facilitates cleaning and resists marring, chemical attack, and graffiti.
Hygard® CG500: 3-ply security glazing - Hygard® CG500 containment grade sheet is a 0.500", 3-ply polycarbonate laminate that meets ASTM F 1233 Class II and HP White TP 0500 Level A Ballistics (.38 Special), single shot. Unlike glass-clad products, this all-polycarbonate laminate resists spalling and white-out after repeated high force and ballistic impacts, an advantage in maintaining visibility of a threat during an attack. All Hygard products incorporate Makrolon polycarbonate sheet produced for high optical quality in security glazing laminates. Exterior surfaces have a proprietary Makrolon AR hardcoat that facilitates cleaning and resists marring, chemical, and graffiti attack.
Hygard® CG750: 3-ply security glazing; highest protection - Hygard® CG750 containment grade sheet is a 0.750", 3-ply polycarbonate laminate that meets ASTM F 1233 Class III and HP White TP 0500.02 Level A Ballistics (9 mm), single shot. Unlike glass-clad products, this all-polycarbonate laminate resists spalling and white-out after repeated high force and ballistic impacts, an advantage in maintaining visibility of a threat during an attack. All Hygard products incorporate Makrolon polycarbonate sheet produced for high optical quality in security glazing laminates. Exterior surfaces have a proprietary Makrolon AR hardcoat that facilitates cleaning and resists marring, chemical attack, and graffiti. Applications include security doors, windows, and other areas that require these specific levels of protection.
