Acetalplaten en acetalstaven (ook bekend als POM) Acetalcopolymeerkunststofplaten en acetalstaven bieden een hoge sterkte en stijfheid in combinatie met verbeterde dimensionale stabiliteit en eenvoudig te bewerken. Acetalstaven en acetalplaten worden ook gekenmerkt door een lage wrijvingscoëfficiënt en goede slijteigenschappen, vooral in natte omgevingen. Vanwege de hoge sterkte, modulus en weerstand tegen impact en vermoeidheid wordt acetal gebruikt als een gewichtsbesparende metaalvervanger.
