LEXAN™ is a polycarbonate resin is an amorphous engineering thermoplastic, characterized by outstanding mechanical, optical, electrical and thermal properties. LEXAN™ is a tradename of Sabic Innovative Plastics IP BV. Lexan's features include: High level of impact resistance (250 times the impact resistance of glass). Lexan offers low rigidity and can be bought in flexible grades. Lexan van handle temperatures up to 240 degrees Fahrenheit before deforming, Lexan is highly resistant to acids and other chemicals such as gasoline. Lexan can be drilled without worry of cracking, and can be cold formed or bent without heating. Lexan also offers a low level of flammability, and is available in flame resistant, ESd, and hard-coated grades.
