Nomex® Aramid Paper
Nomex® Aramid Paper Sheets & Tubes DuPont Nomex is a high-temperature resistant insulation product with an excellent balance of physical and electrical properties. Nomex is made entirely from synthetic aramid polymer in two forms: short fibers (floc) and microscopic fibrous binder particles (fibrids). Nomex has been widely adopted as electrical insulation for liquid and dry transformers, motors, and generators.
Nomex Types:
Nomex® Type 410 calandered, available in thicknesses from 0.05mm to 0.76mm. Provides the best mechanical properties and is the most widely used version.
Nomex® Type 411 uncalandered, available in thicknesses from 0.13mm to 0.58mm. Often used as soft cushioning material or when conformability and impregnability are of importance.
Nomex® Adhesive Tape Nomex® can be supplied with an adhesive backing as sheets, tape or die-cut components.
Other types: Nomex® Type 414, Type 418, Nomex® Pressboard, T992, T993 and T994
Nomex is available in Standard Sheets, Master Rolls & Custom Slit Rolls

Nomex® Aramid Paper Sheets & Tubes Offer:
Heat resistance, strength, durability and dielectric properties
Nomex Type 410 is a calendered insulation paper which offers high inherent dielectric strength, mechanical toughness, flexibility and resilience. Type 410 is the original form of Nomex paper, and is widely used in a majority of electrical equipment applications. Available in 11 thicknesses(2 to 30 mils, or .05 to .76 mm), Type 410 is used in almost every known electrical sheet insulation application.
Type 410, will maintain 300 V/mil (12 kV/mm) dielectric strength for several hours ar 400°C (750°F).
Nomex paper is recognized by Underwrites Laboratories as a 220°C insulation.
