Ceramatest ® 400 - Mica-Filled Ceramic
Ceramatest 400 mica-filled ceramic provides standard geometry stocks in machinable grades such as Sheets, Discs, Bars and Rods. Ceramatest (Dark Gray) is produced using a hot compression process. Ceramatest 400 is softer than any other machinable ceramics on the market and requires no Post-Firing after machining.

Maximum Continuous use the 400 C (750 F)

Compressive Strength of 45,000 psi

Does NOT burn

Fully inorganic, non-flammable, does not outgas or carbonize

Easier to machine than other machinable ceramics

Can be drilled, bored and tapped with standard tooling

Exceptional dimensional stability even at high temperature

Molds and machines much like plastics

No post firing is required after machining or molding

Can accommodate metal inserts during molding

Impervious to moisture, oils and gasses

Does not age, has long shelf-life

Withstands thermal cycling

Low thermal conductivity, excellent thermal insulator

Can be thick film metallized using metal inks or thin film sputtered

High dielectric strength and low electrical loss

High arc resistance

Can be glued with epoxy and sealing glass

Vacuum tight with both machined and molded forms
