Acetaalplaten en acetaalstaven (ook bekend als POM) acetaalcopolymeerkunststofplaten en acetaalstaven zorgen voor een hoge sterkte en stijfheid in combinatie met verbeterde maatvastheid en gemak van bewerking. Acetaalstaven en acetaalplaten worden ook gekenmerkt door een lage wrijvingscoëfficiënt en goede slijtage-eigenschappen, vooral in natte omgevingen. Vanwege zijn hoge sterkte, modulus en weerstand tegen schokken en vermoeidheid wordt Acetal gebruikt als gewichtsbesparende metaalvervanger. Acetaalcopolymeer overwint het veel voorkomende probleem van middellijnporositeit in grote vormen van acetaalhomopolymeer (ook bekend als Delrin)
Acetaalcopolymeer heeft de voorkeur boven Delrin® bij hogedruktoepassingen waarbij de porositeit van de middenlijn een probleem is.
